Rhinebeck!

Went to the NY Sheep & Wool Festival today in Rhinebeck, NY. The weather was beautiful although a lil warm for wool shopping but none the less an awesome day. I didn't think it was as crowded as previous years but thats good as I hate crowds. I bought some awesome leather handles for a felted bag I made, this neat contraption to store your sock needles in that lets the sock your working on hang out and you won't loose your stitches, some pencil roving.... hoping it will help me with my spinning and some nice bulky light tourquise, cream, and brown solid to make some hats. I met Mel & David from Maine.... feel like I know them both just from reading Mel's blog every day. Had some great lamb chilli too. Was a long day but well worth it. I just love the atmosphere and always fun to spend the day with my good friends Joan of Jenny Jump Farm (where Helen lives) and Connie. They both work with me!

Angel Wood Alpaca Farm

Today I visited the Angel Wood Alpaca Farm in Hackettstown, NJ. They had an open house. I have only ever seen alpacas at the shows.... a few but it was beautiful to see a whole farm of them. They are so cute. Jess and Stephanie from my McKnit Yahoo Group went too. I think a great day was had by all. Frieda and Daryl Goodrich were great hosts. Visit their website at http://www.angelwoodalpacas.com/. I also completed these cute lil baby socks.

For Sale by Owner

It's a big day for me.... there is a sign in my front yard that says "For Sale by Owner". Wow..... I have lived in this house for damn near 51 years, and before that my parents and before them my grandparents lived here. I have alot of work ahead of me! Wanna help? I very much look forward to apt. dwelling and no lawn to mow, snow to shovel, oil to buy. Maintenance is just a phone call away. A 4br house is just not afordable for me since the boys have moved out. Wish me luck.... it's definately a "fixer upper" for the person looking for a project!

Garden State Sheep Breeders Festival

This weekend I helped out my friend Joanie at the Garden State Sheep Breeders Festival in Ringoes, NJ. It was an exciting time for me as I showed my lil lamb Helen for the first time along with another lamb from "Jenny Jump Farm" Haven. She placed 6th alone and together Helen and Haven came in 1st in pair of lambs :) They were so cute. Helen and I also participated in the Shepherd's Lead class where I had to make her things to wear in wool and also for myself. I enjoyed this and everybody LOVED her 4 lil leg warmers :) I bought some yarn and got some great ideas. All the fresh "chilly" air totally wiped me out! Was a great weekend. I also got to meet some of my favorite bloggers http://queerjoe.blogspot.com and http://www.knittingcurmudgeon.com/index.html

Welcome

Ok I finally bit the bullet and created a blog. I hope that I have what it takes to keep your interest and show you all my knitted creations :)
